Looking for nostalgic needlework... or maybe just patterns to make your own?

Do you love the handcrafted decorating style of the seventies?

Seems like back then, everyone was learning how to crochet or macrame or embroider.  Handmade meant fun - with lots of color and personal style.

It's a different world now, but I still love to made things with needle and hook, including needle-woven jewelry and miniature dollhouse bedspreads.

Inspired by the whimsical mood of the Love Generation, and the elegance of the Arts & Crafts Movement, my needlework is stitched new to capture the nostalgic charm of yesterday.

If you already are a needleworker or quilter or jewelry maker ...

I have a big collection of magazine back issues and leaflets that are for sale.  They reflect my own interests and are a great source of inspiration and design: beading, jewelry making, quilting, cross stitch, sewing, and of course knit and crochet.  I am adding more all the time so check back!

What is a Pugcentric Pursuit...?

Picture
Daisy the Pug - gone but not forgotten
For me, a Pugcentric Pursuit is any at-home project that allows me to spend time with The Pugs.

But I imagine the pugs have a very different idea of what a Pugcentric Pursuit really is...

What the pugs think:

"You are getting very, very hungry....."
  • eating (or thinking about it)
  • posing for photos
  • going outside
  • coming back inside
  • taking frequent naps
  • staring at the refrigerator
  • trying to intimidate the cat
  • mind control experiments to make dinner time come sooner...
What I think:
  • making jewelry
  • crocheting
  • cross stitch and needlework
  • papercraft
  • reading
  • gardening and bird-watching
  • making sure the pugs are happy and feeling special--even the bad one!
