It's got nothing to do with needlework or crafts, but our 17-year cicadas are coming up this month. This is the second Friday when they appeared in mass, all over the hostas, shrubs, honeysuckle, and maple leaves. Last weekend there was a persistent cold, soaking rain and they seemed to have disappeared. But then they came up again the following Friday. It was dry and sunny, so I snapped some pics before the rain came back. It's amazing how they can change their entire form in just a few days. Last time around, I didn't pay so much attention to them. This time, I plan to enjoy the whole thing! We haven't heard them yet. Can't wait! 5-25-16 magicicada update - lots more coming up. I guess they don't all come up the same night! The new one seem a lot smaller. We heard the first song this afternoon. If it is just one cicada we hear - it should be an interesting June, as this fellow is very loud and attention-getting! Here are more pics.
